Adult and Kid Breakfast Smoothies

I know it’s kind of a pain to make two different smoothies in the morning, but this is truly your families perfect breakfast. Minerals, vitamins and antioxidants from the fruit and veg, the full array or amino acids from the protein powder and healthy fats from nuts and seeds. Without fail, I begin each morning with this smoothie and I feel nourished and satisfied for hours. For the kids, I found it can’t be green … so, I double the fruit and only add a small handful of spinach. I also give them a fat straw which makes it go down super fast…enjoy!

Adult Smoothie

Serves 2

  • 1 banana (we like to freeze ours)
  • 1/2 cup frozen or fresh strawberries or blueberries
  • 1/2 cup almond or coconut milk
  • 1 tablespoon raw almond butter
  • 1 teaspoon chia seeds
  • 1 cup baby spinach
  • 1 cup baby kale
  • 1 scoop high quality whey or hemp protein powder (I use Dr. Frank Lipman’s vanilla whey protein available at www.bewellbydrfranklipman.com)

Directions:

But all ingredients in blender (preferably a vitamix) and blend together.  Add water or milk if needed to reach desired consistency.

Kid Smoothie

  • 1 scoop high quality whey or hemp protein powder (I use Dr. Frank Lipman’s vanilla whey protein available at www.bewellbydrfranklipman.com)
